Open your mouth for the mute,
For the rights of all who are unfortunate and defenseless;
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And administer justice for the afflicted and needy.
Proverbs 31 v 8-9
The purpose of this blog is to offer support and encouragement to anyone who has ever found themselves in an abusive relationship; whether that be a dating, marriage, friendship or family relationship. Specifically in Christian circles, this is still a very controversial topic and is widely frowned upon, and we want to create a platform where people feel free to share their struggles, experiences and victories without fear of shame or judgement. This platform exists to remind those who have experienced abuse that God loves them: He is not against them and does not condemn them. We hope that through this blog people are able to find freedom and peace, and a renewed sense of who they are in Christ.
We exist to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. To fight for the justice of those who are too weak to fight for themselves, and to speak out against injustice. For too long, the Body of Christ has remained silent and refused to speak up about abuse, enabling abusers to continue on their toxic rampage – many of who claim the Lord’s name. We can no longer stand idly by while so many believe (wrongly) that God condones abuse because of how some of His children twist scripture in order to manipulate others and to maintain a sense of power over others.
